Therapy in Junior and Senior Schools

Play and Creative Arts Therapy is suitable for junior and senior schools. It is an increasingly recognised and evidence-based form of counselling for both younger children as well as teenagers. It is a non-directive approach to provide children with a non-judgmental, confidential, therapeutic space in which to explore their feelings and emotions. As the children engage with the resources within the room, they become more self-aware and more able to process what might be troubling them.

The result of children who come to therapy is that they become calmer, less angry and aggressive or less withdrawn and more able to express and talk about their feelings. In building an inner strength and resilience they become more confident in who they are and therefore more able to socialise with others, to cope with life's challenges as well to have open minds for learning and a hope to reach for who they can and want to be.
